Highfield House is a beautiful almost 200-year-old home that has been renovated and added onto. The hostess Geraldine, was very accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was excellent and service was superb.
We were there for two nights and on the second day Geraldine and asked us if we wouldn't mind moving to another room as she had a family of five coming in and the only room that would accommodate them was the one that we were in. She stated if we would just pack our belongings she would have them moved for us while we were out for the day. When we got back that evening our belongs had been moved to the new room and everything was fine. The only concerns of note we had was that the cold water faucet in the sink of our first room was very loose and needs to be tightened, the water pressure in the showers was virtually non-existent, and our second room overlooked the roundabout which was noisy with traffic until late at night. My husband had a hard time falling asleep due to the traffic noise.
Overall, it was a lovely B&B and I would like to have stayed for more than one night. I would definitely stay there again, and would recommend this B&B to anyone traveling through Trim. Ask for a room in the back of the house if noise keeps you awake at night.SSSSS

I can't even articulate how incredible our time was at the Highfield House! From the moment we arrived - to our checkout, our time here was truly unforgettable!
I reserved my stay here months in advance and my arrival was quite late. I was greeted by the friendliest welcome and assured there was no issue with my late arrival. Each morning, we were continually greeted by the owners during their incredibly put together breakfast. The food was delicious and the atmosphere second to none!
The location is perfect and within walking distance to both the Trim Castle and the town and yet far enough away from the street that it was very quite in our rooms. The room was perfection - very clean and decorated with such charm - and had an amazing view of some of the ruins in Trim!
The Owners continued to help us throughout our stay if anything was needed and upon or departure, I felt quite sad that I had to leave! I truly felt as though I had become friends or even part of their little family.
I would recommend this place to ANYONE wanting to have a relaxing and slightly different stay - it's so much more personal than that of a hotel and something I will truly cherish. I am planning a return trip with my family and there is no doubt where I will stay.

Just spent three nights at lovely, comfortable Highland House in Trim, clearly one of our best choices. Staff was exceedingly helpful and friendly, breakfasts were excellent, and the view from our room was spectacular. Central to everything in County Meath; wish we could go back right now! Just got home....SSSSS

We had an early flight out of Dublin. Not only was Highfield House only a 45 minute drive away, we were able to spend the afternoon exploring Trim Castle almost across the street from the B & B. SSSSS

Our first B&B in Ireland and they set the standard to which we compared all others. Geraldine was wonderful. We arrived at the B&B much earlier than check-in due to flight time and were served tea, coffee and scones. Someone was sent to ready a room for us right away. Within 1/2 an hour we were in our room and recovering from jet lag. Breakfast was buffet and cooked. Very good. Bed was wonderfully comfortable. Rooms clean, comfortable in size and decorated with antiques. A very nice place to stay. Walk to town is 5 mins and easy.SSSSS
